Drive Technology
Micropump is the originator of magnetically driven gear pumps.
All magnetically driven pumps eliminate the need for dynamic
seals ensuring leak-free and reliable performance. The internal
wetted magnet inside each pump is encapsulated to protect the
pumpage from the magnet exposure and corrosion.
In addition to magnetic drive technology, Micropump offers their
exclusive I-Drive® electromagnetic drive technology, plus
cam or swash plate drive technology.
Configuration Options
To meet the needs of any customer, Micropump offers a wide variety
of drive configurations to complement its line of pumps.
These drive configurations include:
- AC
- Shaded Pole,
TEFC and Ventilated
- Explosion Proof
- Permanent Split
Capacitor
- DC
- Brush Type
- Brushless
- Electromagnetic
- Programmable Drives
- Air Motors
- Vane Type
- Industrial Adapters
- NEMA 56C to
145TC

Series GA and GJ pumps are available with the I-Drive® drive,
which features the pump, motor and controller packaged into
a compact integrated unit.
Features and Benefits
PM (Permanent Magnet) DC
- Performance in a compact size
- Replaces wound field with ceramic
PMs for smaller overall dimensions
- High torque at low speeds; high
starting torque available
- Linear speed/torque curve and
electronic control ideal for adjustable speed applications
- Reversibility (simple change in
polarity)
- Simple, reliable, efficient design
BLDC (Brushless)
- Replaces the CG brushes typical
in PM motor technology with electronically commutated
motors for longer life
- Constant torque characteristics
despite speed changes (stiffness)
- Continuous duty service
Stepper DC
- Usable in open loop mode; maintains
features of a feedback system
- Noncummulative nature of stepper
error provides improved accuracy
- Consistent performance ideal for
metering/dosing and dispensing applications
Universal AC/DC (Series Wound)
- Speeds > 3600 rpm for single
phase AC
- Variable speed wl load
- High starting torque
- Either AC/DC power source
Shaded Pole, AC
- Simple, rugged design and construction
- Low cost
- No internal switches or brushes
for high dependability
- Quiet and vibration-free
- Constant speed device with varying
torque loads
PSC (Permanent Split Capacitor) AC
- High starting torque
- Low start current for longer life
and greater reliability
- Quiet operation
